CBSE results for class 12th declared

 
Girls once again outshone boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 examinations, results of which were declared on Monday in seven regions across the country.

The pass percentage of girls was 86.93%, compared to 77.83% for boys, a CBSE spokesperson said.

The overall pass percentage registered an increase of 1.84% over 2010 and stood at 81.71%.

Chennai topped the list of overall pass percentage with 91.32%, followed by Ajmer with 85.5%. Delhi stood third with a pass percentage of 85.45%.

The total number of candidates who appeared this year was 7,70,043, 9.85% more than last year.

CBSE spokesperson Rama Sharma said: "CBSE cannot tell the name of the regional toppers as we usually don't do it. The names will be given out by the schools."
